PLC address planner
Plan the address ranges of a PLC station: pick modules, calculate byte demand and start addresses, export to Excel.
// START THE TOOL
The address planner brings its own interface: module catalogue, station list, result table, Excel export. It is only loaded once you ask for it.
Interface in German · project files as .json · export as .xlsx
Planning a PLC station always drags the same bookkeeping along: which module sits in which slot, how many bytes it takes in the input and output area, where the next station starts — and whether all of it still fits the window you set yourself. That arithmetic is what the address planner takes over. Drop modules from the catalogue onto stations, set start addresses and window sizes once, and the byte demand per station plus the start and end address of every module fall out immediately, along with a warning as soon as two ranges overlap or a demand outgrows its window. The result is an Excel list for documentation or for the design office — instead of a spreadsheet that has grown over the years and that nobody re-checks.
The two modes
fixed windows: start = region + station number × window size auto packing: start = next free address (rounded up) + reserve
Example
A station with two DI 16x24VDC (2 input bytes each) and one DQ 16x24VDC (2 output bytes) needs 4 bytes of input space and 2 bytes of output space. With region 0 and window size 100, RIO1 lands on I 0–3 and Q 0–1; RIO2 starts at 100.
Worth knowing
- Everything runs in the browser. Nothing is uploaded, no account needed — projects are saved as a .json file on your own machine.
- The bundled catalogue covers the ET 200SP. Modules from other series can be added by hand - designation, byte demand for inputs and outputs, done. Your own catalogue is stored along with the project.
- Fail-safe modules (F-DI, F-DO, F-AI, F-AO) get their own address regions. The F input and F output of a module start at the same number; the slot advances by the longer of the two demands.
- The module catalogue can be extended inside the tool and passed on to colleagues as a file.
- This page only embeds the file. Downloaded, it opens with a double click offline as well — in a control cabinet room with no network.
- No warranty: the calculated addresses do not replace the check in your engineering software.
