// HOW IT WORKS

Resistor values are printed as colored bands. The tool reads 4-, 5- or 6-band codes and returns the resistance, tolerance and (for 6 bands) the temperature coefficient.

Example

Brown-Black-Red-Gold → 1, 0, ×100, ±5% → 1 kΩ ±5%.

Notes

The first bands are significant digits, the next is the decimal multiplier, then tolerance.
Read from the band closest to an edge; the tolerance band (often gold/silver) sits slightly apart.
